Student Employment at the Education Abroad Center

The UC Davis Education Abroad Center hires students—usually in the summer— to serve as Study Abroad Peer Advisors and Administrative Assistants (also: we have a annual need for a Website Coordinator)

Study Abroad Peer Advisors primarily serve as the first point of contact for students interested in studying abroad. As a Study Abroad Peer Advisor, you will help generate interest and enthusiasm among undergrads, facilitate their selection of a program, and help prepare them for their study abroad experience. This is an opportunity to further develop your, leadership, presentation, social media, office, and advising/counseling skills in a supportive and professional environment.

Administrative Assistants will specialize in one of the following areas: UC Davis Summer Abroad, UC Davis Quarter Abroad, or UC Education Abroad Program and Non-UC Study Abroad programs. Administrative Assistants will assist in preparing students for their study abroad experience by providing general clerical support to the Education Abroad Center Staff.

The Website Coordinator is a great opportunity to enhance your technical, design, and leadership skills. While the Website Coordinator must have previous experience in website and database design and maintenance, there will be room to learn and grow in a supportive environment. The Education Abroad Center website is often the first point of contact for students, staff, and faculty and it is important that its content is appealing, easy to navigate and accurate. The Website Coordinator plays a key role in organizing high quality content and visual innovation.

Please read the job descriptions for more detailed information about each position.

We hire 12-15 Education Abroad Center Student Assistants at the beginning of each academic year who can commit to working a minimum of 12-19 hours per week. Once hired, all Education Abroad Center Student Assistants are required to attend a 3-day training session in the second week of September.
