"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it solely on those accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." -- Mark Twain

Ciao Tutti! My name is Kate Gioia and I advise for programs in Africa, Asia, and Europe.

I studied abroad on EAP in Italy and have traveled mainly throughout Europe, parts of Asia, and a little in Africa. My experiences abroad have completely changed my perspective and continue to remind me that America is only a small part of the world, and that there are so many fascinating peoples and cultures within it. Through study abroad I learned that we truly are a global community, and that every country has so much to offer to the world. Studying abroad is unique in that you have an opportunity to truly experience another culture and to learn from a different perspective- one that you will never gain from staying in the United States.

I highly encourage each and every one of you to explore all of the options that the EAC offers and to get out of your comfort zone. The academic and personal growth you will experience abroad is immeasurable, invaluable, and you can only experience it if you leap! Please stop by the Education Abroad Center today to learn more about our programs!
