Welcome to the Education Abroad Center website! My name is Emily Murdock and I am a Program Coordinator for the Arts and Culture Summer Abroad programs. I hope you find a program at the EAC that fits your academic and personal goals. You are certain to experience a defining moment in life when traveling and/or studying abroad. The defining moment that inspired me to travel and connect with people internationally happened in December 1989. I was 15 years old and I was hammering on the Berlin Wall that had fallen just one month earlier.

Since 1989 I have traveled throughout Europe, Brazil, Costa Rica and Chile. I had an opportunity to work with a foundation in Chile which led to hosting three Chilean high school students. I have also hosted three Japanese exchange students as well. It has been through this combination of travel and hosting students that I understand and appreciate different cultures and traditions. I am also able to encourage and support students as they contemplate the advantages and challenges associated with traveling and studying abroad.
