Hi!  Welcome to the EAC! 

As a Summer Abroad assistant, I am here to help you select a program and guide you through the application process.  With 38 programs from 27 academic departments and in 29 countries, we have a lot of options.

I first learned of the amazing rewards of studying abroad when I participated in the Education Abroad Program in Spain during my senior year at UC Santa Barbara.  After backpacking through Europe as a sophomore, I knew Spain was the place for me!  I knew I wanted to live in an environment where I would be immersed in the culture and encouraged to speak Spanish.  I finally decided on the Intensive Language and Culture Program in Córdoba, Spain.  This may have been the best decision I’ve ever made! 

Living with a host family and taking classes in Spanish, I experienced Spain from the inside out.  I felt like a member of the community, rather than just a sightseer.  I especially liked how I was able to study the famous works of El Greco, Picasso, Dalí, and Gaudi, and then go see them in person!

I enjoyed my experience so much that I am now pursuing a career in international education, hoping to bring this opportunity to as many students as possible.  Regardless of the duration, language of study, living arrangements, or course content, I think that all students can benefit from a study abroad program.  If you have any questions about living or traveling in Spain, or any of the programs offered at the EAC, I’d love to talk with you.  Between EAP, Quarter Abroad, and Summer Abroad, I am sure that we can find a good fit.
