Hi! My name is Robin Ducatillon, and I am a Quarter Abroad Program Coordinator. I work in the Education Abroad Center because studying abroad was such a powerful experience for me when I was a college student, and I believe studying abroad is a vital and transformative part of a college education.
In my senior year in college, I studied in Regensburg, Germany and later traveled on educational programs to Russia, Moldavia, Morocco and France. I also lived in Suffolk County, England for five years when I was growing up. In all of these adventures abroad, I discovered wonderful art and fascinating cultural differences, experienced the beauty of the natural world, and got to know amazing people in so many different places. Studying abroad enriched my education and changed my view of the world and of my own country.
Miriam Beard once wrote, “Certainly, travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.” That was definitely true for me. I hope you too will decide to make studying abroad a part of your education at UC Davis, and experience first-hand how experiencing other parts of the world, can bring about deep and permanent changes in the way you live in the world. Come by the Quarter Abroad Office, and I’ll be happy to help you explore the ways the UC Davis Quarter Abroad can help make study abroad possible for you!
