Scholarships / Funding Opportunities

Don't miss out on study abroad because of financial constraints. Students who are studying abroad have a virtual scholarship world just for them. You don't always have to be a financial aid recipient to apply. Start researching these scholarships at the same time you are applying for one of the EAC programs (or even earlier before applying) so you won't miss any early deadlines.

Fulbright Scholarship	--	--	Through the Institute of International Education. For study, research, or teaching abroad. Applications are to ONE specific country. If you already have more than one semester of study in a country, you are not eligible to apply to that country.
Marshall Scholarship	--	UK	Marshall Scholarships “finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom”. For study at any UK university, including the “Big Three”. Need a 3.7 GPA minimum to apply
The George J. Mitchell Scholarship	--	--	Scholarship for study in Ireland. NOT for “Irish Studies”. Competitive – modeled as the“Marshall Scholarship to Ireland”
Rhodes Scholarship	--	Oxford University, UK	For study at Oxford University, UK. Must have impressive grades and leadership experience
Thomas J. Watson Fellowship	--	--	A one-year grant for travel and study outside the US. Must be a student at one of the 50 participating institutions. Free-formed, non-study proposals.
The Samuel Huntington Public Service Award	EAP	?	Provides an annual stipend of $10,000 for a graduating college senior to pursue public service anywhere in the world
Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program (McNair Scholars Program)	--	Multiple	Created to increase educational opportunities to students who are from low-income, first-generation families, and/or those who are from ethnic backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in graduate education. It is funded through the Department of Education.
Technical University Scholarship Berlin	EAP	Berlin, Germany	Offers four $1,000 scholarships for EAP students
$1000 Integrated Studies Honors Program International Education Travel Award	All	Multiple	Open to this year’s ISHP freshmen class. These awards may be used toward any UC Davis EAC program that begins between June 2008 and October 2009. Stop by the EAC for more information your application!
National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) Scholarships	All	Multiple
Agronomy and Agricultural Awards	All	Multiple	Scholarships for Agronomy & Agricultural majors
American Womens Club for students studying in Sweden	All	Sweden	Open to female U.S. citizens studying in Sweden
Barry Goldwater Scholarship	All	Multiple	For science/engineering students
Bridging Scholarships	All	Japan	Scholarships for studying in Japan
Carolyn F. Wall Scholarship - UC Davis Scholarship	All	Multiple	Must show financial need; It is not limited to L&S students; must fill out the Continuing UG scholarship Application
Christine Diane Fisher Memorial Award - UC Davis Scholarship	EAP Year	Spain	Majors in International Relations and/or Spanish; must read & write Spanish & have serious academic interest in Spanish history, language, society, and culture.

DAAD Germany Scholarships	All	Germany	Students studying in Germany
Davis Honors Challenge Scholarship	All	Multiple	High Achieving students
Denmark Intern'l Studies Scholarship (DIS)	All	Copenhagen, Denmark	Open to UC students studying through DIS in a non-EAP capacity - mainly for Architecture/Design majors
GBLT Student Scholarships	All	Multiple	Large search engine for scholarships for GLBT students
Gilman International Scholarships	All	Multiple
Golden Key Honour Society Scholarships	All	Multiple	The Society rewards more than 700 members annually with exclusive scholarships exceeding $400,000 (USD).

EAP Research Awards	EAP	Multiple	Undergraduate annual research awards in each of three disciplinary areas: the humanities, social sciences, and sciences and engineering. Each award consists of a $1,000 stipend.
