Education Abroad Center
Petition for Major/Minor Credit

Students will receive UC Davis or UC credit for all programs offered through the Education Abroad Center!

For UC Davis students, all courses taken on a Summer and Quarter Abroad Program are accredited UC Davis courses.  These classes can fulfill major, minor, graduation, general education, college breadth and foreign language requirements, as listed in the UC Davis Course Catalog.

For EAP programs, you will receive UC credit for classes you take abroad.  In order to fulfill general education, major, or minor requirements through an EAP program, you must receive signatures from your major/minor advisors on your EAP Acadmic Planning Form (APF) before you go abroad and petition for credit in the Major/Minor when you return.

Each department on campus has a different procedure for petitioning Major/Minor credit for study abroad coursework.  However, we offer the following advice on what information you will need to bring to your departmental advisor to assist with your petition:

1. Student Course Information Form (SCIF) - filled in and attached to the following additional information for EACH class you plan to petition:
-Course syllabus (translated if necessary)
-Course textbook name or reading list (translated if necessary)
-Written assignments for the class (translated if necessary)

2. One page printout of the EAP Course Catalog description of your class
